Bill Abdale

Untitled for Bill Hicks
Mixed media installation
94 x 49 inches

Abdale found this Evangelical comic strip on the street and later screen-printed it on the poster paper in this installation. Untitled for Bill Hicks is a tribute to Bill Hicks, an American comedian who died in 1994. Hicks challenged mainstream beliefs, and was always very critical of the radical religious right.

"Satan is trying to take as many into hell with as he can. He's got kids into punk rock believing that hell will be party time. But they'll never see their friends...only darkness and everlasting punishment. Some are so anxious to get there they are committing suicide."
